Walk Tasmania's Tarkine & Cradle Mountain

Discover ancient rainforests, wild rivers and rugged mountain crags that plummet into steep valleys on this six-day walking trip through Tasmania’s takayna/Tarkine and Cradle Mountain regions. Put your best foot forward as you take in incredible views, hop on a boat to cruise on the Pieman River and explore the rugged coastline where wild winds and waves meet ancient rock formations. Take a scenic walk to Montezuma Falls then explore the Cradle Mountain area’s many tracks at a pace that fits your group – surrounded by mountain peaks, lush shrubbery and still waters. End it all back in Launceston, refreshed and inspired (with a full camera roll).

Activities
    Highlights
    • Escape the everyday, get active and take the time to reconnect with nature in Tasmania’s takayna/Tarkine region – the second largest temperate rainforest in the world.
    • See the gorgeous Cradle Mountain region and explore the many walking tracks among the mountain landscapes, still waters and lush vegetation – at a pace that fits your group!
    • Leave your map and GPS at home! On this walking trip, you’ll have an expert local leader by your side that knows the area inside-out, so all you have to do is enjoy the journey.
    • Unplug and unwind with a two-night stay in a remote, rural community that was a booming mining town in the late 1800s. From here, you’re perfectly placed for enjoying the Tarkine’s best hikes.
